Date : April 15 2010

Background

Shareeramaadyam Khalu Dharma Saadhanam. Adhika Maase Adhika Phalam.Let us indulge in the Devata Kaarya with complete involvement from today Thursday for four full weeks.

The details of Adhika Maasa and  the introduction of Krishnavadhootaru's famous Siddhi Prada Granthha Sri Raghavendra Tantra are described in SRI KRISHNAVADHOOTARU(10).

Meaning

The beginning of Adhika maasa is from the day of Vaishaakha Shuddha Pratipada. Among all the Adhika maasas the Vaishakha maasa Adhika maasa is the most auspicious and the sacred one.  Our Shruti, Smruti and Puranas proclaim that Adhika Maase Adhika Phalam.Special poojas and Vrutas are are performed with Sankalpa during this Adhika. Vrutas are many. Among them the following are the important Vrutas:

A Pair of oil Nanda Deepas for all the 24 hours of the day for a period of one month. Our Desires will be fulfilled and Sri Lakshmi will Bless abundantly.

Uposhana ( Not taking food except milk and fruits),  Eka Bhukta (Only one time food and water that too in the afternoon), Nakta Bhojana (Whole day Upavaasa and food at night),

Dhaarani Paarani ( One day food and the other day Upavaasa),   Ayaachita ( Without asking anything from any body), Mouna Vruta ( Not talking observance of complete silent)

Adhahashayana ( Sleeping on the floor without any bed),Nakha Kesha Vruta( Hairs and nails should not be removed),      Laksha Namaskara ( One lakh Namaskaras to our Sri Hari Vayu Guru)

Laksha Pushpaarchane (Offering of one lakh flowers during pooja), Laksha Tulasi Archane ( Offering of one lakh Tulasi Dalas during pooja), Bhaagavata Daana (the most Holy Sri MatBhaagavata Daana to the deserving persons who care and read

Mantralaya Devotees and the satvikas perform the Vrutas and always desire to live on the sacred bank of Tungabhadra river that too Mantralaya and Bichali Japadakatti. With Sankalpa perform with great devotion and dedication :

VishnuRoopi Sahasramsuhu Sarva Paapa Pranaashanaha
Apoopaanna Pradaanena Mama Paapam Vyapohatu
Narayana Jagadbeeja Bhaskara Prati Roopaka
Vrutenaanena Putramscha Sampadam Chaapi Vardhaya
Yasya Haste Gadaa Chakre Garudo Yasya Vaahanaha
Shankham Karatale Yasya Same Vishnuhu Praseedatu
Idam Sopaskaram Trayastriimshat Apoopa Daanam
Sadakshinakam SaTaamboolam Sri Raghavendrateertha Guruvantargata

Sri Bhaarateeramana Mukhyapraanantargata Sri Purushottama
Priyato Bhavatu Sri Krishnarpanamastu !

It is quite fantastic and amazing to know that for a period of one month the satvikas will be highly busy in the offerings of things with 33 articles. Apoopa Daana we say.

One more interesting thing is that some Devotees have made Sankalpa to Chant  the most sacred Siddhi Stotra of Bichali Japadakatti Sri Appanacharya's Sri Gurustotra, famous as Sri Raghavendra Stotra all the time except Praatarvidhi. All these Vrutas  we perform to propitiate Sri Hari, thus the Prasaara and the Prachaara of Sri Hari Sarvottama and Sri Vayu Jeevottama will be continued for 33 days during Adhika maasa. To acquire the Anugraha of Sri Hari - Sri Narayana - Sri Purushottama - Sri Krishna - Sri Narahari - Sri MoolaRamadeva and Sri Vedavyasadevaru. As our Subhaashita clarifies:

Ekam Sat Vipraahaa Bahudhaa Vadanti.

The Truth is manifested in several names.

It is the privilege and punya to describe about the Siddhi Prada of Sri Krishnavadhootaru which is  popular and famous as S R I R A G H A V E N D R A T A N T R A. Became enlightened by the greatest Devotee of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu -   Bichali Japadakatti Sri Appanacharyaru and attained the highest Saadhana and Siddhi and thus called as Avadhoota by Mantralaya Rayaru himself. I feel happy to introduce  all this Siddhi and Anugraha matters  in the Mantralaya Series, that too  during this Adhika maasa  - Adhika Vaishaakhamaasa to our world devotees. It is very clear  that Bichali Japadakatti Appanacharya is very dear and close and always lived like the two faces of a coin. Their heart, Opinion and Thought was always one.

Further we understand that Sri Appanacharyaru and Sri Krishnavadhootaru has fully understood  the Divine Personality and the heart of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu. W e can say AapaadaMouliParyanta. Not only that Sri Krishnavadhoota has written  Samhata and Prahata Avataari  Bichali Japadakatti Appanacharya and Sondur Krishnavadhootaru though not contemporary looked like Yamalaru, Twins, Ashwini Devategalu attained the highest Siddhi under the guidance and the advice of our Noble Yatiraat Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu. Sri Raghavendra Gurustotra and the Mangalashtaka  of Sri Appanacharya and Sri Raghavendra Tantra of Sri Avadhootaru are the Divine Master Pieces to the world devotees today.

The imagination (Pratibha), knowledge, Bhakti, Vocabulary (Vipula Shabda Sampattu), Style and above all the surrendering feelings towards Rayaru made him a great Devotee to compose the book of all times S R I R A G H A V E N D R A T A N T R A. How to acquire and attain  the Anugraha of Sri GuruRayaru is described in several ways as he has thoroughly understood the Divine Power of Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru. The whole Granthha Sri Raghavendra Tantra is full of SriRaghavendra Poorna. It is so popular that many Mantralaya Devotees on Thursday perform the pooja as below:

After putting Rangoli on the floor decorate with Arisina and Kumkuma, they place a round plate of brass or copper or silver and keep eight Neelanjinas round the plate, place the two Hoobattis with ghee and light the Deepas chanting SRI RAGHAVENDRAYA NAMAHA. In the Devanaagari Lipi this will be in eight letters.SRI APPANARYAYA NAMAHA is also of eight letters. Devotees doing this with great Bhakti remember Rayaru and Appanacharyaru. They simply surrender and feel the presence of our Rayaru. Devotees we can say  are Bhaktaanugrahakaankshi  and our kind Yatiraat GuruRayaru is Bhaktaanugraha Premi. Abundant matters are described in detail in  this Siddhi Prada Granthha Sri RaghavendraTantra  by Krishnavadhootaru. Strictly speaking this greatest devotee took Avatara of Manuja only for the composition of :

               S R I R A G H A V E N D R A T A N T R A

There are Fifteen chapters in this Siddhi Granthha. Avadhootaru called as Patala. How to please Rayaru, how to worship and  attain the Anugraha of Rayaru are all described here. He is so honest that he has accepted the follies  and the mistakes committed  by him before he  was awakened  by Bichali Japadakatti Sri Appanacharyaru and  Mantralaya Sri  Raghavendrateertharu.  Finally Sri Krishnavadhootaru  mentioned, recorded, believed and said loudly :

Rasa Rushihi Sri Appanacharyaha
Devataa Sri Raghavendra Guruhu
Mae Ishtaarthha Siddhaye.
