The sacred atmosphere of Anegundi –
Navavrundavana is quite convenient and
comfortable to the satvikas to perform Tapa ana Japa
and also to attain Siddhi. It is very rare to find
all the nine yatis Brindavana
in one place on the bank of the Tungabhadra. They are on this holy island.
These nine yatis resembled like nine ratna-NavaRatna., Navagruha and
the Navavidha Bhakti as
described in Bhaagavata. The thrilling, pleasing and
solacing atmosphere parisara of Navavrundavana
is nothing but the divine gift of Sri Hari and the
divine natural contribution of Mother Nature. All are auspicious and punyakara. Sri Vyasarayaru – Sri Prahlada
avatari Sri Vyasarayaru
resided in Hampi for a long time. By the pratishthaapana of Yantroddhaaraka
Sri Hanumanthadevaru proclaimed to the whole world
the importance of Sri Harisarvottama and Vayujeevottama. Actually Sri Vyasarajaru
though a pontiff, helped the society and always struggled for the welfare of
the Manukula and guided the Vijayanagara
Samraajya(empire).
Sri Vyasarayaru the guru of Sri Purandaradasaru and Sri Kanakadasaru enriched the Kannada literature by Padasa, keertanas and suladis. These two dasas have rendered the yeoman service to the literature, Society and to our holy Madhwa Siddhanta. We are proud and happy to know that the previous janma of Mantralaya Rayaru i.e.Sri Vyasarajaru – Sri Vyasarayaru was the author of:
Sri Vyarayaru
liked and loved Anegundi island and attained
the eternal peace the abode of Sri Hari at that
holy island, Owing to the most famous yatis Sri
Padmanabhateertharu, Sri Vyarayaru,
Sri Sudheendrateertharu the guru of our Rayaru also resided at this Siddhi
sanctum of Navavrundavana. Though Mantralaya
Sri Raghavendrateertharu was born in Bhuvanagiri, spent most of the time in Kumbhakonam,Tanjore,
travelled Hampi Yantroddhaaraka
Sri Hanumanthadevaru of chakrateertha,
Anegundi island eight brindavanas
then, before the Brindavana of Sri Sudheendrateertharu. On the sacred bank of Tungabhadra
along with his beloved Guru Sri Sudheendrateertharu.
Sri Sudheendrateertharu detailed the whole divine
importance of Anegundi island and also knew the
sanctity of the Tungabhadra bank. All these things denote that Rayaru will settle in Mantralaya
on the bank of Tungabhadra.
Ayushayam Sharadaha Shatam Shataayushi Vadirajarateertharu when visited Anegundi island, at that time there were only eight brindavanas. Sri Sudheendrateertha’s brindavana was not at that time.By visiting the sanctum Sri Vadirajaru uttered and is mentioned in the famous work TEERTHAPRABANDHA:
Rajadhaanee Jayati
Saa Gajagouharasamgnita
Yatra Bhaanti
Gajaa Madhwa Radhhanta DharaneeDharaaha
That thes eight yatis brindavanas ar the Ashta Diggajas who have taken the full weight of this earth on their shoulder, owing to this Anegundi is always victorious, auspicious in all spheres. We are happy to know that this shloka is in TEERTHAPRABHANDA of our Punyavardhaka Sri Vadirajarateertharu.Sri Padmanabhateertharu and other yatis are described as the Diggajas of Madhwa Siddhanta.
Anegundi island right from the beginning of the yugas was very sacred and holy. i.e. in krutayuga Satyavruta was residing in this holy kshetra:
Idam Satyavruta
Kshetram AasanneAmrutadaayakam
Yo Vaset
Ek Raatram Vaa Sa Yaati Paramaam
Gatim.
The river, mountain and the natural greenery has enhanced much more beauty and the holy divine instinct of this island of Anegundi, i.e Navavrundavana as we call today. Even the mountain by name Taaraparvata , the wife of Sri Bruhaspati performed Tapa on this mountain only, so it is popular as Taaraparvata the tall and the wide mountain which is in front of the Navavrundavana. When we cross this Taaraparvata we find the bones (Asthhi) of Vaali even after thousands of years widely scattered on the land about acres together. Satikas collect this Asthi and carry. The pieces of Asthhi are powdered and apply to the small children, so that they will be free from all fears and become bold and courageous. Actually Kapivarasa (monkeys) resided from yugas at Hampi and Anegundi.
Anegundi Navavrundavana
is the place that gives abundant happiness and peace. We find the Saakaara and the Aakaara of
divine power and satisfaction.
