Background
The
power of positive mindset demonstrated by Sri Bhimasena Devaru,
Prahalad Rajruru, and Sri Rayaru are described in Mantralaya(1086).
Meaning
In
the previous article we talked about the power of the positive mindset
is profoundly reflected in the ancient wisdom encapsulated in the
Yajurveda's proclamation: "Yatha Pinde Tatha Brahmande, Yatha Brahmande
Tatha Pinde." This timeless verse underscores the interconnectedness of
the individual with the vast cosmos. It speaks to the intrinsic unity
between the microcosm of the human body and the macrocosm of the
universe.
In essence, it suggests that the qualities and
attributes found within the individual are mirrored in the cosmic
order, and vice versa. Just as the human body is a microcosm of the
larger universe, so too are the rhythms and energies of the universe
reflected within the individual.
This profound insight reminds
us of the inherent power we possess to shape our reality through our
thoughts, actions, and perceptions. By cultivating a positive mindset
and aligning ourselves with the harmonious flow of the universe, we can
tap into the boundless potential within and without, fostering growth,
transformation, and fulfillment on both personal and cosmic scales.
Today,
let's acknowledge the profound influence of a positive mindset, as
exemplified by Sri Bhimsena Devaru, Sri Prahalad Rajru, and Sri
RaghavendraTeertharu. Their lives serve as powerful illustrations of
the transformative outcomes that arise from maintaining a positive
outlook and unwavering devotion to Sri Narayana.
Let go back to
Mahabharata, One episode in the Mahabharata vividly showcases
Bhimasena's greatness. It occurs during the Drona Parva, specifically
on the 15th day of the war. This is when Dronacharya is disarmed and
beheaded by Dhrishtadyumna. The grievous loss deeply wounds and
infuriates Ashwathama, sparking a fierce battle against the Pandavas.
In
a moment of towering fury, Ashwathama wields the awe-inspiring
"Narayana Astra," a celestial force unrivaled across the cosmos. Its
sheer might echoes the ferocity of a cosmic cataclysm, a force so
potent that it threatens to bring the war to an abrupt and catastrophic
end. Amidst the trembling anticipation of its unleashed power, Lord
Krishna intervenes with divine authority. His command reverberates
through the hearts of the Pandava warriors, urging them to relinquish
their arms and stand firm in surrender. For in that moment, Krishna
unveils the profound truth: the Narayana Astra holds no dominion over
those who willingly yield to its formidable might.
While almost
all the warriors immediately heed Krishna's call and drop their
weapons, Bhimasena stands apart. Defiant and resolute, he proclaims his
unwavering stance: he will never relinquish his weapon, regardless of
the consequences. With a conviction born of deep faith, he declares
that as long as his mind is surrendered to Sri Narayana, divine
protection will prevail, rendering surrender unnecessary. For
Bhimasena, to yield to even the most formidable weapon would be a
betrayal of the warrior's code, a violation of Kshatriya Dharma. To
him, dropping his weapons would be a disgrace, a stain upon his honor.
He implores Arjuna to stand firm alongside him, but Arjuna, recognizing
the invincible power of the Narayana weapon, chooses not to raise his
Gandiva in defiance.
As Bhima strides toward the unleashed fury
of the Narayana Astra, he becomes engulfed in its fiery embrace. Arjuna
and Krishna hasten to his side, their hearts heavy with concern. In a
desperate bid to shield Bhima from the relentless onslaught, Arjuna
unleashes the Varuna weapon, hoping to quell the inferno threatening to
consume his brother.
Yet, it is the divine intervention of Sri
Krishna that proves decisive in this moment of peril. With gentle yet
commanding authority, Sri Krishna reaches out to Bhima, his touch a
beacon of solace amidst the chaos. Sri Krishna implores Bhima to cease
his resistance, to yield to the will of destiny and divinity.
Moved
by Krishna's words, Bhima descends from his chariot without hesitation,
his spirit bowed but unbroken. With a steadfast resolve to obey
Krishna's command, he lays down his arms, surrendering to the greater
wisdom and compassion of the divine.
And in that moment of
surrender, the Narayana Astra, once a harbinger of destruction, is
pacified, its flames quenched by the power of Bhima's submission to
Krishna's will. Thus, through unwavering faith and obedience, Bhima
emerges unscathed, his spirit tempered by the fires of adversity, his
greatness shining ever brighter in the light of divine grace.
This
episode illuminates myriad facets of Bhima's character, each shining
with unparalleled brilliance. Firstly, his fearlessness stands as a
beacon of inspiration. Confronted with the most formidable weapon, he
remains undaunted, his unwavering belief in Sri Hari's protection
banishing all traces of fear from his heart. With a mind steadfast in
positivity, he strides forth, unflinching in the face of imminent
danger.
Secondly, Bhima's unyielding sense of duty and adherence
to dharma serve as a testament to his noble character. Refusing to
succumb to the allure of surrender, he stands firm, his resolve
unshakable. Instead of abandoning his weapon, he embraces the challenge
before him, ready to confront adversity head-on. In his unwavering
commitment to righteousness, Bhima exemplifies the essence of true
valor and integrity.
Furthermore, this episode serves as a
profound testament to Bhima's unwavering devotion to Lord Krishna.
Without hesitation, he descends from his chariot at Krishna's behest,
demonstrating a profound reverence for his divine counsel. For Bhima,
obedience to Krishna transcends all other duties, for it is the
foremost dharma of Mukhya Prana, the very essence of his being. In this
act of surrender to Krishna's will, Bhima exemplifies the highest form
of devotion, his unwavering faith illuminating the path of
righteousness for all who witness his noble sacrifice.
Similarly,
Prahalad Rajru's unshakeable devotion to Lord Narasimha, even in the
face of persecution and tyranny, demonstrates the profound impact of a
positive mindset grounded in unwavering faith. His steadfastness in the
face of adversity serves as an inspiration to all who seek solace and
strength in the divine.
And Sri Rayaru, through his teachings
and exemplary life, exemplifies the transformative power of a positive
mindset centered on devotion to Sri Hari. His unwavering faith,
humility, and dedication to the spiritual path continue to inspire
countless devotees to this day, serving as a beacon of hope and
guidance in an ever-changing world.
Indeed, the examples of
Bhimasena, Prahalad Rajru, and Sri Rayaru remind us that no matter the
challenges we face, a positive mindset anchored in faith and devotion
can propel us towards greater heights of spiritual growth, inner
strength, and divine grace. Let us draw inspiration from their examples
and strive to cultivate a mindset of unwavering positivity and devotion
in our own lives.
